Social Network Analysis

Overview

Welcome! SEPHU is undertaking a Social Network Analysis (SNA) to better understand how organisations across the south east connect and work together.

By mapping these relationships, we aim to identify where partnerships are strongest and where we can build new bridges to improve communication and coordination. This work is central to our 5-Year Strategy for better preventive health and community support.

This initiative is called BEACON (Building Engagement and Collaboration among Organisational Networks). Working alongside the experts at First Person Consulting, SEPHU is developing a tailored approach to visualise the complex web of organisations working across our 11 local government areas.

What we hope to achieve

  • A clear visual map of how organisations and groups interact.
  • Insights into "hidden" connectors who help the network function.
  • Identification of areas where organisations might feel isolated or disconnected.
  • A sustainable process that SEPHU can use to keep our network healthy and integrated over the long term.

SNA Survey

Why participate?

We are inviting all stakeholders to participate in a short, targeted survey. Your input will directly shape how we strengthen connections, improve collaboration and drive more coordinated public health action across the region.

Benefits for you

  • Visibility: Gain a clearer understanding of how your organisation is connected within the broader network.
  • Collaboration & partnerships: Identify and strengthen partnerships, discover new opportunities for collaboration and improve coordination and information sharing across organisations.
  • Planning & decision making: Participants will receive summary insights from the SNA survey to inform strategic planning, support evidence-based decisions and identify gaps, overlaps and priority areas for action. SEPHU will host a post SNA survey webinar on Tuesday 18 August to share key findings and insights. Register here Monash Health | Post SNA Survey Webinar
